Pre-medical experience in Delhi

Our two week programme is led by an experienced leader so you will be supported throughout. During the two weeks you will spend 9 days shadowing doctors and nurses in various departments within a hospital in south Delhi.

Why do this?
If you are considering a career in medicine or nursing, gaining relevant work experience can be tough for students to come by. On this programme, not only will you get to build your medical CV but also learn about a completely different medical system to the ones we are used to in Europe.

Day to day at the hospital
During the experience you can expect to spend time in at least two different departments. Most of our participants spend time in the emergency ward and operating theatres but other departments include:

• In-patient wards
• Laboratory
• Blood bank
• Radiology/imaging
• Dialysis
• Critical care
• Nursing

You will intern in the hospital from 09:00 - 15:00. In addition to time spent on the wards, you will also be involved in staff training sessions at the hospital each week.

Extra activities
During your first weekend in Delhi you will do a tour of the city, visiting the Lotus Temple and Humayun's Tomb.

We have a three day weekend scheduled in the middle of the experience when you will go on the famous Golden Triangle Tour, visiting Agra - home to the Taj Mahal and Jaipur where you will visit Amber Fort and The City Palace.

One evening during the week you will have dinner at the Akshardham Temple in Delhi where you will see a laser and water show.

Getting to India
As an ATOL bonded company we can book flights for you. For people flying from the UK, you will fly with our leader. If you are joining us from other parts of Europe or the world, you will meet the team on arrival at Delhi airport. Return airport transfers from Delhi airport to your hotel accommodation are included.
