We believe that conservation and communities cannot exist in isolation of each other - hence our goals through all our projects to interlink, grow, conserve and uplift. The holism of our programs is important as it works with the community as a whole to see the problems in a bigger picture.
Started in 2011, the first location supports daily up to 1000 kids and adults, by providing training and opportunity to youth through different programs:
- Green Kidz (Environmental Education Programme)
- Social Enterprise, where we support and grow small businesses through an incubator
- Agro-Ecology training,
- Rise creches (Early Childhood Development programme)
- Eco Village (this includes our recycling programme and our general day to day outreach into the village around us).
This second location, started early 2023, is growing fast to support this new community with the same engagement.
You don't know what to focus on, but you want to help? This is the best place to be!
Located in the middle of a rural village, your experience will be unforgettable as you will immerse yourself into the Shangaan culture.
Our After School programme welcomes 200 to 400 kids daily, to give them an understanding of nature and their role in protecting it.
We also support 4 elementary-schools around the area. As well as a farm to help us feed all of the kids.
Your day will be a mix of everything, immersing yourself into the NPO work and being part of our team, from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
- The farm (planting, watering, harvesting)
- Providing Environmental Education Classes to elementary school
- Helping at the Kitchen to cook (200 to 400 meals a day)
- Creating content for the Green Kidz programs (Games, workshop, presentation etc..)
- Supervising the activities with the kids
We accept curious people to join us for an immersive learning experience. If you are interested in learning about a new culture, doing research or aiming to learn a new skill, then we would love to have you join us.
This opportunity is like no other, as you are based at the project itself and will experience Africa like you never have before. Volunteers will be staying at a rustic tented camp situated on the same property as the project. Enjoying the outside shower, cooking on coals, and talking around the fire.
You will have the opportunity to explore our amazing area during the weekend (extra cost - We can organize it!) and go to the first location.
We can't wait to have you join our Family!
