Make a lasting impact on dog welfare in Croatia’s coastal communities.
This project places you at shelters supporting abandoned, rescued, or mistreated dogs. You become part of the daily routine that restores trust and wellbeing to vulnerable animals.
What will I be doing?
You’ll assist with feeding, walking, grooming, and enriching the dogs’ daily lives. Your presence helps scrub away trauma through consistency, attention, and affection.
You’ll help maintain safe, clean shelter environments—tidying enclosures, caring for living areas, and keeping spaces hygienic.
You’ll play, socialize, and bond with dogs to boost their confidence and readiness for adoption.
You may assist at adoption events or create promotional content to connect dogs with potential new families.
Veterinary students or recent graduates can take this role further through a formal internship—supporting soft-tissue surgeries, monitoring cases, helping with treatments, and learning from clinical professionals.
Why choose this project?
You’ll witness your efforts transform anxious, displaced dogs into adoptable companions.
You’ll build meaningful animal-care skills, from basic husbandry to emotional rehabilitation.
You’ll support shelters in need, giving precious time and compassion where resources are limited.
You’ll explore Croatia’s stunning coastlines, historic towns, and nature between shifts.
You’ll join a community of volunteers and caregivers dedicated to animal welfare and rescue.
Whether you stay two weeks or up to a year as a veterinary intern, you’ll leave knowing you helped give dogs a second chance—and helped shape a more compassionate shelter system in Croatia.
