WILD VOLUNTEERING IN AUSTRALIA

The program takes place in a wildlife park located in Port Douglas, 45 minutes from Cairns. This reserve gives you the opportunity to discover the natural wonders of Queensland, where the Great Barrier Reef meets the rainforests.
The team of animal keepers and professionals will be there to help you with your missions!

You will be caring for Australia's famous mammals such as koalas, kangaroos, and wallabies. The park is also home to various birds, reptiles, and fish that you can discover during your volunteer program. Support our organization in the preservation of these animal species that have made the country famous.

DAILY LIFE FOR VOLUNTEERS AT THE CENTER

Interns will be directly involved in the daily care of the mammals and birds. Each animal, especially those from recent rescues, requires special treatment, diet, and sometimes medical care upon arrival at the shelter.

Note: This project can be physically demanding in terms of daily tasks.
Working Hours (Variable): 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with two 30-minute breaks. Monday to Friday.

VOLUNTEER MISSIONS

• Preparing meals for the animals
• Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures
• Collecting and distributing leaves for koalas
• Setting up exhibits and presentations for visitors
• Identifying and collecting native plants
• Assisting in the care of injured and orphaned animals
• Contributing ideas to improve the animals' living conditions
• Building and maintaining nests and feeders
• Collecting and sorting data on threats to species conservation
