Marine biology internship in Thailand

Program Description:

By participating in this project, you contribute to scientific research and its dissemination through specialized studies and articles.

You will learn about the composition and organization of various coastal and marine ecosystems. Coral reef studies will be approached from multiple perspectives to deepen and advance ongoing research, as will coastal ecosystems.

This program allows you to use and handle new equipment and analytical systems while becoming familiar with the organisms that make up these ecosystems and the monitoring methods used.

Program Highlights:

• Study of coastal and marine ecosystems
• Exploratory diving and snorkeling
• Monitoring of coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangroves
• Construction and installation of natural and artificial coral structures
• Coral restoration techniques
• Identification and monitoring of marine organisms
• Study of marine diseases and bio-indicators
• Water analysis (bacteriological and toxicological)
• Microscopic analyses and data processing
• 2D / 3D photogrammetry
• Writing reports and scientific articles
• Mapping and geospatial analysis
• Marine monitoring and awareness programs
• Use of UAV drones and ROVs
• Beach and seabed cleanups (marine debris and ghost nets)
• Educational workshops on marine conservation
• Monitoring leatherback turtle nesting (December – April)

Schedule and Organization:

Working hours are generally from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but may be adjusted depending on research needs and weather conditions.
