The over 50s All Inclusive Elephant Volunteering programme is a unique opportunity for mature travellers to experience ethical elephant conservation in the heart of South Africa. Based on the beautiful Garden Route, volunteers join a respected sanctuary that provides lifelong care for elephants that have been removed from riding camps or unsuitable environments. Instead, volunteers help gather behavioural data, assist with enrichment, observe feeding habits, monitor movement patterns and support the team with essential sanctuary duties. Everything you do contributes directly to long term welfare and ongoing scientific research.

This programme is ideal for those who want a safe, all inclusive experience. Accommodation is in comfortable volunteer lodges surrounded by nature, with all meals and local transport provided. Your days will typically include morning elephant observations, helping prepare enrichment, recording behaviours and participating in informal educational sessions with the sanctuary team.
