This comprehensive and in-depth training lasts for a full year. It was created to meet the demand for qualified safari guides in the market. It is intended for those who plan to enter this market, as well as for anyone who wants to develop their knowledge of the African bush.
The nature guide training organization offers a program that gives you every chance to succeed: the "theoretical" training is held in 2 different reserves for about 6 months to experience as many situations as possible. Students participate in 2 outings per day, one in the morning from 5/6 am to 10/11 am and one in the evening from 4 pm to 8 pm to observe nocturnal life. There are also walking excursions to learn tracking techniques. After the training, students are placed in practical internships at a lodge to test their guiding abilities. They are supervised by experienced guides and managers.
The instructors are also examiners, and 2-3 people will determine your success! You will have many exercises such as making oral presentations to the other students to practice public speaking, role-playing during the outings: safari presentation, safety instructions, explanations about animals, setting up a coffee break in a safe spot (tea/coffee/biscuits!), etc.
