Nursing internship in Tanzania

As part of this nursing project, you may work in several different hospitals, depending on availability. Interns can work in the department of their choice according to their skills.

Like all of our international nursing and medical internship programs, this project in Tanzania allows you to validate your year while gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the United Nations’ goal of healthcare access for all.

With this internship, you will:

• Feel part of the community and experience the hospitality and culture of this friendly community.
• Assist in and gain valuable experience providing primary healthcare.
• Provide necessary care and health education to children and underserved communities.
• Contribute to awareness and reduction of epidemic diseases such as HIV/AIDS and malaria.
• Train local volunteers in a vital and sustainable home care program.
• Be part of a rewarding and sustainable project.

Intern tasks:
Participants’ tasks will depend on their experience, interests, and the area of greatest need at the time. A professional supervisor will be assigned by the hospital to guide you in patient care. Below are different areas where volunteer support is needed:

• Receiving patients,
• Patient registration,
• Checking vital signs,
• Assisting doctors with taking patient histories and administering treatments.
