Nursing Internship in Guatemala

In Guatemala, a network of public health services provides free care, including health centers for rural communities. Our nursing internship focuses on these facilities. Centers operate daytime consultations and offer check-ups, vaccinations, and growth monitoring for infants.

Volunteers are essential as many locals rely on these centers. They mainly assist in the main room, helping with vaccinations and measuring infants’ height and weight. Volunteers with advanced medical skills and strong Spanish can support doctors during consultations.

Like all our international nursing and medical programs, this Guatemala project allows you to validate your academic year while gaining hands-on experience and contributing to universal access to healthcare.

Urban Medical Internship: Primary Care Center

The Centro de Salud is a public urban clinic offering free healthcare. Consultations are only during the day.

Internship Tasks:

• Monitor infant height and weight, and administer vaccines when needed.
• Assist with family planning consultations and injections.
• Support HIV clinic tests and routine consultations.

Interns may rotate through different clinics depending on their skills, including psychology, lab work, dental care, or physiotherapy.

Other Available Projects:

• Children’s disability centers and rehabilitation programs for physiotherapy students.
• Community prevention workshops as part of the nursing internship program.
