Building internship in Thailand

Program Description:

This project combines **heritage restoration** and **sustainable development** through two major initiatives:

• Restoration of a **125-year-old historical house** and its infrastructure related to coconut oil production. The site includes a traditional colonial-style stilt house and the ruins of furnaces and secondary structures.
• Creation of a **cultural and memorial space** on Phi Phi Island to commemorate the **20th anniversary of the tsunami**. The project includes a socio-cultural center, a tsunami memorial, and a **plastic recycling station** using pyrolysis technology.

Supervised by **eco-construction professionals**, these projects promote **sustainable building techniques** and encourage knowledge exchange between **European and local practices**. They also emphasize **adapting to the environment** rather than modifying it.

Main Tasks:

• Landscaping and development of natural areas.
• Demolition of old structures.
• Construction of wooden and bamboo structures.
• Masonry and construction of new buildings using **local and eco-friendly materials** (wood / bamboo / terracotta / stone).
• Gardening and maintenance of green spaces.
• Installation of **rainwater harvesting** and **drinking water purification systems**.
• Creation and installation of a **plastic waste treatment facility** using pyrolysis.
• Implementation of a **phytosanitary system** for wastewater filtration.
• Finishing work (plumbing, electricity, painting, and furnishing).
• Creation of **artistic structures** using recycled and natural materials.

Working Hours:

8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., adjustable depending on the type of work and weather conditions.
