Renovation and construction internship in Nepal

Program Description:

The goal of this humanitarian construction internship is to develop eco-friendly and resilient infrastructure using sustainable materials and techniques, while contributing to the long-term development of the local community in Nepal.

Many engineering students take part in long-term construction projects and use Nepal’s reconstruction initiatives as an opportunity to gain valuable field experience in a region where natural disaster risks are high and adaptability is essential.

Like all our humanitarian programs, this project in Nepal allows you to validate your academic year while making a positive and lasting impact on the local community.

Project Types and Missions by Season:

Dry Season (October–May):

• Major construction works in collaboration with local companies.
• Building and renovating schools, clinics, and community centers.

Monsoon Season (June–September):

• Indoor work: renovation, decoration, design, and architecture.
• Gardening and green space management.
• Awareness sessions for local communities (ecology, sustainable construction).
• Small-scale projects depending on resources: rainwater collection, toilet construction.

Intern Schedule:

Working hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Daily Tasks:

• Painting and decorating (murals, illustrations for creative participants).
• Demolition of existing buildings.
• Construction of temporary structures.
• Masonry and construction of new buildings.
• Small-scale land development.
• Gardening and green space management.
• Installation of drinking water purification systems.
• Temperature regulation in schools.
